Here is how information is used by the tools on Way to Knot.

Search and the information guide

You can search the vendor directory and use the Wedding Info Assistant without entering contact details. Information-guide questions are matched in your browser and are not added to an advisor profile.

Your saved wedding profile

The Wedding Advisor saves the name, answers, planning conversation and any contact details you provide. Saved profiles are available for up to 30 days. Your browser stores a random access key so you can resume on the same browser.

Starting over

Use Start Over or Create New Profile in the Wedding Advisor to delete the current saved profile and remove its access key from your browser.

Contact details and optional services

Contact details are saved with your plan. Saving them does not subscribe you to marketing or automatically send an email. If AI or email services are enabled, the relevant planning information is sent to that service when you use the feature.

Seating plans and email access

Device saves remain in your browser. Downloaded plan files contain your guest list and seating layout. If email access is enabled, a requested access code expires after 15 minutes. Verified cloud sessions last up to 7 days, and cloud plans are kept for up to 90 days.

Business inquiries

When you submit a business request, the business and contact details you enter are saved privately for review for up to 90 days. A request does not automatically create a public directory listing or subscribe you to marketing.

External services

Vendor and directions links open external websites. Map tiles and externally loaded fonts may be requested from third-party services. Those services have their own privacy practices.

Basic service protection

The advisor uses a hashed network-address identifier to limit repeated requests. Do not enter payment details, passwords or sensitive information in planning questions.
